BDO was founded in 1963 with five founding member firms in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, the US and Canada, as the Binder Seidman International Group. In 1973, 3 member firms adopted a common name an acronym derived from the initials of each individual firm, and BDO was used by all members from then on. These three firms were Binder Hamlyn (UK) Dijker & Co (Holland) Otte & Co (Germany).

BDO global network recorded a total revenue of US$ 12.8 billion in the year 2022. BDO operates via 1,803 offices in more than 164 countries providing auditing and consultancy services, with more than 111.300 professionals including partners working in these offices, worldwide. Today, BDO’s entrepreneurial spirit continues to develop as it further expands each passing day.
